Description and behaviour
Form and usage:
The meaning of this composite stem is 'eight', and, if used with a 3pl/sg possessive ending, 'eighth'. Note that only the second word, {piŋajuq}N, inflects, whereas {aqvinəq}N remains unaffected regardless of case. Thus e.g. arfineq pingasunik, arfineq pingasunut, arfineq pingajuat and so on. It may also be spelt with a dash, e.g. arfineq-pingasut, or even written together as a single word. We therefore treat the two stems as a single morpheme here.
